Michael Sheetal lives and works in the centre of Tokyo (Shibuya), where he runs an Interactive creative agency together with Marc Wesseling, UltraSupernew.inc.

UltraSupernew.Inc. combines cutting edge digital technology with the experience of setting up a (digital) brand. Working from a Mashup of social networks, advertising, consumer generated media, web applications, games, guerilla, street & viral marketing and traditional media, the company has worked on many succesful projects. Some examples are: Press Army (tracking impact in social media), Fightclub KLM (a platform where Japanese travellers can write about their European trips), and a viral campaign for Philips (in Japanese).

Michael writes for the Japanese Times and is Japan correspondent for the NextWebBlog. He is one of the organisers of Tokyo2point0 and a specialist in (digital) Trends in Japan.

Michael graduated from the University of Technology in Sidney and started as technical director and later as manager at Madcap studios, a motion capture studio, where he set up animation projects for commercials computer games and research. In 2002, he moved to Tokyo where he created software/video installations, and worked together with the Japanese video artist Kyoko Ebata. In 2003 he joined the advertising agency Ad-comm, where he developed the studio for in-house web-productions and set up projects wth Lufthansa, Renault and Allianz.

Michael talks about Trends in Japan, the Japanese digital culture in comparison with Western culture, and how to succesfully set up a brand in Asia. He also speaks about Mobile, Mobile Gaming, Webdevelopments and Gaming in Japan.

In February 2008, he was invited by the Dutch ambassy in Japan to present at the Dutch GameJam in Utrecht. He talked about Gaming in Japan and the development of games for mobile phones. Michael also speaks at several events in Japan, for example at Apple’s Ginza Auditorium, Pecha Kucha Night – an event where creative concepts are presented (started in Tokyo, and now on 115 different locations), and he speaks regularly at Tokio2point0 .
